What is the purpose of the internet on my TV or media player?
- Registering DS-GO Player: This needs to be done once during initial setup.
- Publishing (uploading) content: This is required to ensure the content on your TV or media player is up-to-date. Internet access is also needed to unpublish content.
- Getting a screenshot from DS-GO Player: This allows you to see what’s currently playing.
- Managing playback: This includes adjusting volume, controlling playback settings (changing display properties), setting sleep timers, changing time zone, temperature scale, and time format.
- Weather widgets: These require internet access to display current weather information.
- YouTube streaming: This requires a constant internet connection to stream videos.
What will happen if the internet connection to the TV or media player is interrupted?
If the media player loses its internet connection, playback will not be interrupted. However, it’s best to avoid prolonged disconnections as you won’t be able to access YouTube, control the media player, or download new content.
What do you need to play content on your TV or media player?
Content is played using the installed DS-GO Player app. Content is loaded and played from the internal or external (memory card or USB drive) memory of your TV or media player. The exception is YouTube, which is an online streaming service.
What to do if you see the message “No connection to DS-GO service” instead of the registration code or content?
- 1) Check your internet connection: Make sure your TV or media player has a stable internet connection.
- 2) Try a different network: Create a mobile hotspot from your phone and connect your TV or media player to it. If the error is resolved, this indicates the problem is related to your internet provider’s connection.
A black screen appears on your TV or media player instead of content:
A). Check if content is published on your TV or media player. Here’s how:
- 1) Go to the TV section in the app: Click on the name of your TV.
- 2) Open the content menu: Click on the “Content” icon in the drop-down menu.
- 3) Check the content sections: Make sure there is content in the “Main Content” and “Promotion” sections. If they are empty, add content by clicking the “+” button at the bottom of the screen.
Additionally, you can check if the content is published on your TV in the “Content” section. If there is no “Play” icon at the bottom of your content screenshot, this means the content is not published. To publish the content, click on its screenshot and follow the publication procedure.
B). Check your content for compliance with formats and sizes – more details.
On the screen of my TV or media player, a black background or the last frame of the content is displayed for an extended period instead of content.
It’s possible you only have an advertising block published, and the Main content has not yet been published. Since the Promotion is displayed periodically, when it finishes, DS-GO Player has no content to show and therefore displays the last frame of the advertisement or a black background.
I don’t see the content screenshot.
The DS-GO Player app on your TV is not running or is minimized. Launch the app by clicking on its icon on the TV’s home screen or in the app list.
The content loading indication appears periodically.
Most likely, your TV has an unstable internet connection. With each new internet connection, DS-GO.Player continues to download content. It’s also possible that the network equipment you’re using has artificial restrictions on traffic volume, the number of connections, etc.
Do I need to manually launch the DS-GO player app after turning on my TV or media player?
No, after turning on the device, content playback starts automatically, without user intervention. If you encounter a situation where auto-launch doesn’t happen, please refer to our recommendations.
